International Activities of the City of Vienna

Vienna and Zagreb are connected by an intensive exchange of expertise in the environmental field, infrastructure, traffic and culture as well as by a successful transfer of know-how on municipal administrations. The intensified cooperation, from which the citizens of both cities are to benefit, has been resumed with the signing of a new cooperation agreement in 2022. Further points of contact result from the membership of both countries in the European Strategy for the Danube Region. When two strong earthquakes hit the Croatian capital in 2020, Vienna donated 40 tons of timber to the City of Zagreb as a sign of solidarity.
